Another trip into the city allowed for another brunch experience!

This time, we wandered down the very popular Degraves St to see what we could find!

Degraves St

We chose to try  Lacitta as they still had breakfast available (till 11am)…and there were some tables available inside!

La Citta

We actually preferred to sit inside…it was a cozy oasis away from all the crowds as Degraves St is crazy busy…especially on a weekend…we were glad to get away from the crowds!

I explained my food issues, and the helpful waitress…who had a gorgeous accent..french I think…had a little trouble understanding what I was asking for but we worked it out in the end.

I ended up with a similar brunch that I had recently of poached eggs, smashed avocado and smoked salmon…but this time it came with toasted bread.

I had a bit of a heart attack when it was brought out, as often bread can have dairy in it, and I was afraid it might also have butter…but the Maitre D’ was quick to go and check with the chef, and returned to assure me it was all indeed dairy free.

This was my meal….dairy free and delicious!

La Citta

And this is what my husband had…he doesn’t have to worry about being dairy free….lucky thing!

La Citta

We were excited to find that they had traditional chai, brewed with tea leaves in a pot with soy milk…yum!

Enjoyed it so much, we each had another one!

Chai Tea

The chai was served quickly, and we didn’t have to wait long for food, despite the restaurant being quite busy.

I can report I had no effects from the meal….and we enjoyed it so much, we have since been back again for brunch with no issues!

Lacitta is also open in the evenings, and one day we might attempt dinner there…will let you know!

Lacitta is located at 11 Degraves St, Melbourne VIC 3000
