I was racing through the shopping centre, on a quick shopping mission with list in hand, when my eye caught a glimpse of something in a shop window that pulled me up.

It was a pair of the most amazing red shoes I have ever seen…I love red, but it’s got to be a nice, bright red…and I love quirky, unusual shoes.

These shoes ticked all the right boxes, so without hesitation and no thought to my very tight schedule, I went into the store.

And these are the shoes…I know…so glossy red with that heel….

Melissa-Shoes

This design is part of a just launched collection which is collaboration between Melissa and the well known fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld.

There are four styles in the collection, but this “Upside Down Heel” design is the one for me!

Melissa is a Brazilian company, and has been available in Australia since 2004.

The shoes are plastic….but not just any old plastic…they are made from a malleable plastic developed by Melissa called Melflex™.

It molds easily to your foot, breathes well, is hypoallergenic, odorless, neutral and natural which means that Melissa shoes not only look fabulous, but are comfortable to wear!

And Melissa shoes are good to the environment…they are created with a zero waste ethos and particular attention to the life cycle of materials AND they are recyclable!

Melissa even recycle overstock styles into next season’s collection.

The only thing I don’t like is they infuse a bubblegum scent into the plastic…I can’t handle strong perfume and find this scent somewhat overwhelming….hoping it fades over time.

They are waterproof, and easy to look after…you can just wipe them down with a baby wipe and remove any scuffs with eucalyptus oil.

To shine them up, just use a microfibre cloth!

I bought my first pair of Melissa sandals just before Christmas…also a gorgeous shade of red!

Now I am in love with these ones…I mean look at them!

They are a limited edition, not to be repeated which makes them even more special…so if you want a pair, get yourself online or to a store quick smart.

Oh, and they also come in purple and black!

Did I need them…nope…but I am sure going to enjoy wearing them!
